Step 1 Custom Color Matching: Take your color samples on the paint department in your local paint supplier that has a computerized color matching system. Ask for your custom paint to become created using the very best quality masonry paint available.
Step 2 Blending the Paint: Simply mix the paint in a ratio of a single part paint to a single part water.
Step 3 Preparing the stone veneer being painted: The only prep necessary for the stones is saturating them in water. The water will carry the paint deeper in to the stones. There are various methods for you to go about saturating the stones in water. Some people make use of a concrete mixing tub plus some people utilize a water hose.
Step 3 Applying Paint: Using a lint-free cloth dipped in paint. Using a water soaked cloth, wipe or dab the surplus paint through the surface of the stone veneer. The harder you wipe or dab the stones the lighter the colour will be. Just like painting a piece of paper, the stones may be painting with several different colors that you can fit for the stones.
Step 4 Ready for installation: Paint drying and paint curing won’t be the same thing. Keep in mind that the paint might be easily scratched through the curing process. Paint is dry for the touch in minutes at proper temperatures, and often will take up to four weeks to cure, depending about the type of paint type.
Step 5 Stone Care: Taking water exposure into account will greatly extend the life span beauty of your stone veneer. Daily contact with water will initiate a task called efflorescence. Basically, a white calcium crust will build up and eat away at concrete that’s regular experience water.
Stones purchased at the local supplier are scratched up as a result of excessive handling and stacking. If you want clean and scratch free stones you’ll want to NOT stack or excessively handle the finished product.
Now you’re ready to add your spin and you are done!
